Brief Answer:

Yes

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Yes, you can take whey protein for building muscle mass at this age also.

Second thing there are no scientific studies which show that whey protein causes major problems in users.

I have also seen no problem in my patients who are taking whey protein or other protein supplements.

No effects if the dosage is not too high.
As in normal persons if moderate exertion in gym person can take upto 1.2 gm per kg body weight per day.

Intense workout persons may take upto 2 gm per kg body weight.
But the protein amount is different for different brands. Different brands have different scoop sizes.

And the total protein requirement includes regular diet protein.
As a rule, if a person is taking more proteins in foods then he needs little supplements.

Last my advise do not skip a meal as a meal will give you other nutrients in addition to proteins.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
