Are Rashes On My Left Arm, Fingers And Across The Whole Back A Serious Concern?

Question: I woke up with a rash on my left arm, that looks like a hickey. It starts on the bottom joint in my fingers, across the whole of the back of my hand and halfway up my arm. It doesn't hurt or anything, just not suer what it is.

Hello,

It seems likely to be an allergic reaction (probably due to some allergen i.e. environmental/food/medication-induced/cosmetic products or in some case could be due to non-specific cause also). The other possibility is due to some kind of inflammation (causes could again be due to several different reasons).

I'd suggest applying some Ice-cold compression over the affected areas. Perhaps take a cold water shower. Afterward apply some soothing Aloe-vera lotion twice daily and avoid direct sunlight exposure for the time being.

In case there's any associated itching, please take an anti-allergic (eg. Tab CETIRIZINE/BENADRYL once daily at bedtime) and observe how you stay. If there are any recent cosmetic/ornament/dietary/clothing changes, please try to avoid them as they could be the potential culprit.
