Question : I am 25 weeks 5 days pregnant and in the first 23 weeks I only gained just over 7lbs. I started a bit overweight. But in the past 16 days I'm up 7lbs for a total of 14.2lbs. My blood pressure was 116 over 68 when I checked it today at home. Only swelling is in my fingers as my wedding ring is too snug, but that's it. I'm freaking myself out about Preeclampsia. I have no other symptoms. should I be scaring myself?

Hi,
Don't worry about preeclampsia.
Real weight gain starts after 26 weeks. So don't worry about it.
Your blood pressure is normal. Don't worry about preeclampsia either.

So could just be because I'm snacking more. Not eating a ton more. But it just shocked me because I gained the same amount of weight in 16 days that I did in the first 23 weeks. So would you suggest I just wait until my next appointment on the 11th or get in any sooner?

Wait
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
These changes are known to occur in pregnancy. They are normal and not indicative of preeclampsia.
I don't see any reason for you to panic. Your weight change is not related to eating few snacks. The ring is not fitting due mild skin swelling which is normal in pregnancy. There is absolutely no reason to panic.
Wait till next appointment.
Let me know if you need any more help.

Last question...even though I technically gained about 3.5lbs per week the past two weeks? 7lbs in 16 days?
