Are Sore Throat And Fatigue Early Signs Of HIV?

Question: Hello, I had sex with unknown person 19 days ago. Both are male, Just fore play and masturbation, No anal and oral sex. I have sore throat and fatigue now. Brown mucus with blood also coming. I am feeling this may be the early symptom HIV infection..

These are not early symptoms of HIV because
- with the above act it is unlikely that HIV transfer.
- if at all HIV is transmitted to anybody it takes minimum 3 months to show the features and that too starts slowly.

Your symptoms more suggest of a viral throat infection which is not related to your sexual act. I suggest you to continue antibiotics and it will subside in 4 to 5 days.

The sore throat lasts for only a day..Now I am not having sore throat.I use to have throat irritation after laughing and loud speaking. I exposed to mosquito coil smoke for 1 hour after 30 mins sudden fatigue starts with mild irritation in the throat.It happened 3PM on day before yesterday. I dont smoke and drink. next morning When i spit ,I saw brown mucus with blood. after that slowly throat infection go off. and then this morning again I noticed brown mucus with blood. I feel normal now. No fatigue , No chill. Only bad taste in the mouth exists . Could you please tell me do I have sensitive throat? How get rid of from that? Some websites say that Early HIV symptoms starts 2-4 weeks after exposure? I am feeling scared. Please reply

Probably you had injury due to smoke

Hi,

It appears you have got injury to throat due to mosquito coil smoke. As such coil smoke is very irritable. As now you don't have any other symptoms the brown mucus is due to smoke injury only.

Yes you have a sensitive throat. To reduce it you need to take multivitamin tablets with antioxidant combinations and also avoid exposure to smoke and dust.

It will heal slowly. Usually it takes time for HIV virus to develop in body and to suppress immunity in a healthy person. So don't worry. The important thing is with your sexual act there is no risk of HIV transmission. Those 2 - 4 weeks is for those who are already immune suppressed like old age or having other major disease and also not with everyone.
