Are Suicidal And Violent Thoughts Symptoms Of A Mental Disorder?

default
Posted on Thu, 19 May 2016
Question: i've taken some online test (based by dsm 5) and it shown that i might have several mental health prob.
since i dont have any private physician or private psychiatrist to consult this,
i just wonder if its possible to get examine accurately and to get to know about my mental health better so then i know what to do in future.
because from what i read, that people with mental disorder mostly failed on buiding their relationship with others and also tend to be suicidal and violent.
those three things above happened to me before but i just thought its normal because i bet everybody must have been through that too...

Brief Answer:
Consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks very much for your question.

I'm sorry you don't have a psychiatrist you can consult in your area. However, I am confident I can be helpful to you. It is entirely possible for me to examine you this way and give you an opinion based on DSM 5 criteria as you mention.

You describe feeling suicidal, violent, and having trouble with relationships. Which DSM 5 disorders do you believe these symptoms fit into for you? This could describe disorders such as bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, or schizophrenia.
