Are Supplements Effective In Controlling Blood Pressure?

Welcome to HCM. I have reviewed your question
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir:
There is no "generic" list of supplements to be wary of. Each supplement needs to be tailored to the individual taking into consideration a variety of factors including the current diet, the manufacturer's safety and quality assurance practices, whether the supplement is evidence based and the particular supplement in question. There just isn't a list of supplements to be wary of.
The supplements most studied for lowering blood pressure are garlic, Roselle Tea,nitrates from beet juice or nitrate supplementation-all of these have studies backing up their ability to safely lower blood pressure.
A diet with plenty of colorful vegetables and a restriction of salt intake may also help. If you are sodium sensitive, your blood pressure should respond to a sodium reduction to 1500-2300 mg/dl with adequate hydration of 8 glasses of pure water per day.
In summary, the most effective and safe way to go to lower your blood pressure with supplements is to use garlic and/or nitrate supplementation (pill form or from beet juice), lower your sodium, eat a healthy diet, regular walks and get enough quality sleep.
