default
Posted on Thu, 30 Apr 2015
Question: My mom is visiting me from Cuba. She is taking warfarin a blood thinner since she had ESTENOSYS AORTA MITRAL surgery 30 years ago. Also she is taking a medicine for blood pressure like hydrocloratizida in Spanish. She started with a rash in her body. I went to the walgreens and they told me to give her Zyrtec one 10 mg pill a day. I would like to know if is ok with her condition.

Brief Answer:
Allergic skin rash, take treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
Your mother seems to have developed a generalised skin rash, probably allergic in nature .
She has been prescribed an antihistamine for the condition . In most cases, antihistamines alone are able to control the allergic rashes .
Only in cases where the rash persists or tends to increase ,a detailed examination of the patient is required to find out the exact cause .
So I would advise you to continue with the medicine and she should completely avoid taking any other pain killers or medicine's other than warfarin and the hypertension medicines.

Hope it helps
