Are There Any Permanent Solutions For Pes Planus?

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Oct 2015
Question: I have severe Pes Planus and my ankles curve inward causing severe pain in my feet, ankles, legs, knees, hips, and lower back. I was fitted for arch inserts and special shoes back in 1986 while serving in the military. I have had lower back procedures and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, but to no avail I still have constant pain in my feet and joints. My question: Is there a cure for a person like me? I have (2) severely autistic children who needs my constant care where I'm on my feet all day. I also have a cane and a back brace that has helped in the pass. But now something else is needed. I'm a 51 yr old diabetic on 500mg twice daily pill of insulin. I also have numbness. I was awarded 30% disability fm VA for my feet but have not been given a solution to my dilemma. I'm very grateful for the inserts, shoes and 800mg Motrin but there has to be another solution! Need Help

Brief Answer:
I think your main trouble is Fibromyalgia.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that since you have pes planus they have already put you on braces and as you say you had multiple surgeries so this cant be cured , you have to bear with it . What is troubling you most at this time is the chronic pain syndrome or Fibromyalgia that is worsening your life . I see that you are not on any medication for that . Taking care of two autistic children is a big deal and that is worsening your issue . I think you need to be started on amitryptyline or duloxetine which will help you tremendously with your symptoms . You will need to talk to your doctor regarding the same .

Any other query please ask.

Take care.
