Question: Hello Doctor,
Shettles method / Whelan's method even though contrary are quite popular among parents to be but I would like to know if there are any scientific evidences to validate these theories and on how the doctors view these theories? Does timing as mentioned by these methods have any impact on the gender of the baby?

Brief Answer:
These are non-scientific ways.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Shettle's method and Whelan's method are both non-scientific ways to predict the gender of the baby.

No scientific studies are available that prove any of the methods to be correct. The timing of intercourse cannot affect the sex of the baby. The time of ovulation cannot be predicted 100% correctly to make any such study possible.

I hope this answers your query.

In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

Wishing you good health.
Regards.
