Are There Any Trusted Brands/products For Vegans?
Question: I am following almost a vegan diet. I am lactose intolerant and extremely gluten intolerant. So my diet doesn't include any of these. I have switched to gluten free millets and also lactose free milk and curd.
I wanted to check on how to ensure sufficient DHA and EPA omega 3 fatty acids. Are there any trusted brands/products for vegans?
P.S. I do not have Soy allergy.

Brief Answer:
DHA and EPA omega 3 fatty acids not recommended
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
In Indians DHA and EPA are usually in normal range.
With a history of intolerance, intestines may already be affected. I would not suggest fish oil as source of omega 3, 6, 9 as it may cause intestinal bleeding. Instead you may try flaxseed oil as its source.

Thank you for the response doctor. I do consume flax seeds (roasted) and chia seeds (soaked) in my diet. If I'm not mistaken, they are rich in ALA and need to be converted to DHA and EPA by the body. So how much quantity is recommended and the cadence? Whenever I eat them it's not more than 10g each.
Brief Answer:
Yes 1-2 spoons per day
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Thanks for following up.
I do understand that both flaxseed and chia seeds are good source of omega 3. These also have anti-inflammatory and bulk forming effect and may help with your digestion issues. These have many other effects. These should be taken for short term maybe few days to weeks. Yes 1-2 spoons (10g) per day is enough.
You may want to consider naturopathy to reduce gastro-intestinal inflammation. I also think that if intolerance is there to many foods, then chemicals or allopathy may not be suitable as well.
