Posted on Tue, 3 May 2016
Question: Doctors i am so worried i have tiny bumps all over my penis head.. If i shine light on them some have a clear dark dimple in the middle of them...none ever hurt blistered or itched or wept ant fluid . I noticed them after a weekend of unprotected sex with my partner who is 100% clean... I am terrified this is herpes i have not had unprotected sex but have had unprotected oral in the past... outside of my girlfriend who i know for sure is 100% std clean.. I am terrified i have now possibly given her this terrible disease .. My whole penis head is covered i. These tiny flesh coloures bumps and some have a darker dimple in them.. i went to a doctor he said it didnt look like herpes and to come back if anything changed .. went to an std clinic cause i wasnt happy with the effort be took in looking and she said it didnt look like an std but took a swab of it ... I think out of anxiety i have been scratching at one of them to see what the dimple is and caused a small cut that im now worried is even more evidence leanin towards herpes ..my penis head is all wrinkly as well and when i constantly check it looks more irratated .. Please can an std expert give me some afvice.. On if thisis herpes i wont live with myself if i passed this to the beautiful girl i love

Brief Answer:
Lesions are unlikely to be due to genital Herpes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
First of all, your lesions are not looking like Genital herpes at all as per the photographs attached by you.
They are papules and not vesicles. In herpes, lesions would appear as multiple fluid containg vesicles and they rupture within a day or two to form tiny grouped ulcers. Your lesions are not fit with this description.
They are due to allergic balanitis for either saliva, condom, vaginal secretion or any application. Consult a Dermatologist. After examination and investigations he/she will treat with appropriate medicine. Mostly topical preparation would be sufficient. Nothing much to worry. You will be alright soon.

Okay doctor, thank you for your quick response.. I can trust in your professional judgement and Maybe i can relax a little bit now.? Until my swab results comes back tomorrow.. the only thing that concerns me is because of my anxiety i have scoured the internet and it has just made me more anxious and overloaded with information .. From saying that herpes lesions are not always typical and can present itself in different ways including. Balantis? I have been reassuring myself that this cant be herpes due to the nature of the lesions u see as they are all over and not necessarily grouped in one area but its hard to convince myself of this Added that i don't have any other sypmtoms besides the appearence of them im trying to bepositive that this is indeed nothing to worry about and hopefully can look forward to living the rest of my life free of worry and with the girl of my dreams ..

Brief Answer:
Unusual presentation of Genital Herpes also not consitent with your lesions

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Genital Herpes infection is not that bad as you think. Even though there is no known a complete cure to prevent the recurrences, considerable number of people are living happily with HSV infection without any difficulty. This is just for your information only. Your lesions are not related to HSV infection.
Abnormal presentations of HSV also not have any of the features that present with you at present. Moreover theseabnormal presentations are more common with immunocompramised individuals rather in normal people.
Your report would likely to come not in favor of Herpes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Herpetic balanitis is not uncommon. I have come across many many cases. It would not be looking like that of your lesions exhibitted through the picture. Reax and you will get a clean result.
