Are Unequal Size Of Testicles Symptoms Of Testicular Cancer?

default
Posted on Wed, 17 Aug 2016
Question: Hi. Recently I've been very concerned about testicular cancer so much so that I have stayed up until all hours of the night worrying. My left testicle is bigger than my right testicle and often hangs lower than the right as well. I have examined my testicles everyday for the last 2 weeks or so trying to find lumps. The only thing that I have found is a small bump on the bottom of both of my testicles. The sides and top of the testicles are both smooth. Nobody in my family's history has ever had cancer. I am very worried. I have a physical coming up and want to ask my doctor to examine them to make sure, but Im still concerned as to why my right one is smaller than my left. I have no pains in my abdomen or groin or lower back whatsoever. I think I just might be a hypochondriac because Im so worried about it. Do you have any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Low risk for testicular cancer

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You are concerned about possible testicular cancer. You have noticed that your testicles are different sizes and hang differently. This is completely normal. You also noticed no lumps on the testicles. Your medical provider when they do your physical will check for testicular cancer. Be open with your provider and explain your anxiety and I am sure they will be able to relieve your anxiety.

The real problem is anxiety. I would recommend that you try reading a book called the Anxiety and Phobia Handbook by Dr. Bourne. If you read and follow the instructions in the book it will help you control your anxiety.
