Question: I have been masturbating excessively lately and have suddenly started having difficulty urinating. Can excessive masturbation hurt the prostate and the penis which would cause this. I have had no previous problems urinating.

Brief Answer:
No excessive masturbation does not hurt prostate

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in Healthcaremagic.com.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

I understand your concern.
Excessive masturbation may cause fatigue, loss of concentration, penile pain to some extent, and according to some studies baldness also. But it is not associated with prostatic symptoms and difficulty in urinating.
According to your age, it is quite possible that there is some initiation of the prostatic symptoms. It has somehow coincided with excessive masturbation. Mild urinary infections may also present with difficulty in urination.
However, you should undergo some investigations like urine analysis e.g. routine and microscopic examination and culture, ultrasound KUB (kidney, ureter, bladder) region and uroflowmetry to check your urinary system and prostate.
You can go to an urologist too and look for further management.
You can get back to me with the reports.
Till then, take plenty of water orally, keep genitals clean and dont over-masturbate.

Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.

I have started experiencing some stinging and itching in my penis and slight rectal pain which just started today and a slight fever. Does this sound like a mild uti?

Brief Answer:
Yes it might be UTI

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Sorry for the late reply.

Yes itching and stinging feeling might be symptoms of UTI. Rectal pain or pain around the anus might also be presentation of an urinary infection. Fever also goes in favour of an infective pathology.
Hence it is possible that you are having urinary infection.
Get the tests done as mentioned above and also visit a doctor for antibiotics and further management.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
