Question : Good Morning Dr. Rynne,
I believe I have a stress fracture in my left foot. Never had one before, but I am unable to put weight on the inside edge of my foot, below the big toe. I have shooting pain, and throbbing pain. I have a physical job in landscaping (I'm the owner). Been resting and icing the area, and the icing helps. Also taking advil. I am willing to purchase a walking boot, but want to know if they come in both left and right foot orientations.
Thank you for your advice,
Mary XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Get an X ray done. Upload the reports.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Your question has been posted on a common pool where Dr. Rynne might not be available to take the question. I am therefore taking it up. I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. I believe that I can clear your doubts.
The first thing I would suggest is to go for an X ray of your foot (AP and lateral) and to upload the report. It is ok to for for walking boots. They come in pairs of right and left (both) foot orientation. Continue to apply ice. Also apply hot compress. You may take Advil as per requirement.
I would await your response. Let me know if I could help further.
