Question : Can you use 11 percentage lidocaine applied inside rectum for numbing safely? Hi have a fisher and hem mortises that I had thought of using this product on. Has 11 percent lidocaine in the ingredients?

Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

11% lidocaine will be too much for fissure and haemorrhoids. Usually 3% of lidocaine in combination is used.

So I suggest you to take combination cream containing lidocaine 3% , hydrocortisone and calcium dobusilate 0.25% each and zinc 5%. This combination works better. 11% is more and it gets absorbed and may cause side effects.

Also consult your doctor and take sitz bath and also if you are having constipation then a laxative agent you need to take.

I understand what you are saying, however I already have the cream with 11% lidocaine. You Would like to be able to use it as. I do not have a way of relief this evening. Would it be OK ay to use it?

Hi,

If for the evening you don't have another options then you can apply the 11% lidocaine . For 2 to 3 applications it is safe. You may apply 2 to 3 times till you can consult your doctor.

But be aware of its side effects like headache , dizziness etc. While applying it , don't rub on the area. Just apply over the fissure and inside and leave it.
