Can 40 Mg Nexium Be Taken While Taking Nexium 80 Ng Daily?
Question: Hello Dr XXXXXXX I had gastritis for 18 months from early 2019 to late 2020. It healed completely for one year and now it is back. I am taking 40 mg nexium twice daily and it has helped significantly in just 2 weeks. I have read about Zinc L Carnosine and slipper elm powder. I would like to have your views on these:
1) can they be taken while taking nexium 80 ng daily.
2)Can they both be taken every day.
3)Do they help in building/strengthening stomach mucus lining.
4)Which of the two supplements has more proven record.
5)Which one will you suggest if at all.
Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Answers are-
1)Yes you can take them with Nexium.
2)Yes this would give better result(additive action)
3)They are unproven/ experimental things..Some literature says that they may strengthen it but no long term trials or good researches are available.
4)None have any proven record where a large number of patients were included and long term effects were seen.
5)I would suggest you to increase Nexium to 80-40 or 80-80 doses if 40 mg alone is not helping rather then trying unproven things.
Thanks.
