Can Abilify And Lyrica Cause Weight Gain?

Question : I have been taking Some 3X a day for 2 years after a spinal surgery. I also take abilify, 5 mg and Lyrica 150 mg. daily.... for seasonal disorder. Can you tell me if either or both of these cause weight gain, due to increase in appetite? i have gained 15 lbs and not certain which to attribute this to. Will the weight drop once I stop the drug. I exercise with a trainer 3X a week, but the acutual weight stays on. Please advise.

I am so sorry to hear about this weight gain. I have reviewed your medications and abilify and lyrica can both cause weight gain. These are the most probable promoting factors. However, this weight should tend to regress as soon as you get off these medications. Being long term drugs, I will rather suggest that you control your diet and continue with sporting activities to mitigate the chances of picking up extra and excessive pounds.
