Can Adair Be Taken While Suffering From Asthma?

Question : I have life long asthma am 70 year old white female. Is there a hight risk of death from pneumonia if I take Adair 500/50 ? My doc whats to take me off this medicine that had controlled my breathing for years. What are some good studies to read?Thanks

Yes, risk of pneumonia is high.

I can understand your concern.
Yes possibility of pneumonia is more with inhaled corticosteroid.
But if you are rinsing your mouth, doing gargles after inhaler use, then chances of pneumonia are less.
You can also reduce dosage of inhaled corticosteroid (ICS). Currently you are taking 500 micrograms which is higher dose.
You can take 250 micrograms and taper it further to 125 micrograms.
By doing this you are avoiding higher pneumonia chances.
