Can Advil Be Taken Along With Diclofenac?

Question : Yes. Thank you. My son was diagnosed with a grade 2 concussion yesterday after a Rugby bash. He went to the ER in XXXXXXX KY and they did a CT Scan. It was clear. They released him and game him Zofran to take every 6 hours for nausea and Diclofenac Sodium 75mg to take 2x a day for 14 days. Of course he will be going thru concussion protocol starting with his dr tomorrow am and then on to a "concussion clinic' This is 3rd maybe 4th concussion. I think our Rugby days are over. He is 17 yrs and weighs 180. My question is can he take Advil along with the DS 75mg. His head is still pounding.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Instead of Advil that may worsen nausea and may damage stomach if used simultaneously with diclofenac, your son, in my opinion may use Tylenol 4x500 mg/daily in addition to diclofenac.

I agree with you about stopping rugby in order to prevent further brain damage.
