Brief Answer:
althea pills can not be used as emergency contraceptive pills.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.

In my opinion, althea pills can not be used as emergency contraceptive (EC) pills.

EC pills contains high doses of hormones to prevent pregnancy as compared to usual birth control pills.

I would suggest you to take EC pills as soon as possible now, as you would not be completely protected with althea pills.

Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.

Take care.

Thank you for your answer. Really Aprreciate it.

but if she uses EC pills like Trust Pills in the 48th hour or more (since our sex) and then use althea pills regularly for the next following days plus citrus and pineapple intake would it be effective?

Brief Answer:
ec pills followed by althea pills

Detailed Answer:
You are most welcome.

I think that should be fine.

Trust pills followed by regular althea pills and pineapple and citrus should work for her.

But keep in touch with your doctor.

I wish you well.
Thanks

Hi,

We already bougth trust pills. and she already too 4 tablets at 10:46pm yesterday.
She then took again 4tablets at around 10:46am (12th hr).

Observation: minutes before she's going to take the 2nd round, she experienced stomach cramps/pains which results to vomitting. she's already expecting this (because she experienced this when she took 2 althea pills way back). also she has an history of hyper acidity.

Question: is this normal? are we going to take another round or not?

thank you for your reply :)

Brief Answer:
no need to take more pills.

Detailed Answer:
Dear,
Sorry for late reply.

This is common due to contraceptive pills.
There is no need to take another round of pills.

She can take tablet ondansetron if she has persisting vomiting and omeprazole for hyperacidity.

Keep in touch with local doctor as well.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Hi,

It's me again and I have some observations again.

My girlfriend observed that she had white milky-ish discharge on her underwear. she's concerned that she might be pregnant (as this is one of the symptoms). but she took 4pills on 33rd hour and another 4pills on the 12th hour. Is these normal?
I've seen a lot of post online wherein people took EC and had similar experiences but has not really confirmed if pregnant or what.

can you give me a brief explaination about this one?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
normal after EC pills.

Detailed Answer:
Whitish vaginal discharge after EC pills is common and not an indicator of pregnancy.
It is due to hormonal imbalance cause by pills in the body.

Do not worry about it. As she took pills well within time, there should not be pregnancy.

Hooe this helps.
Thanks.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
periods may come early or late than usual.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Sorry for late response.

Periods may come early or late than usual. However, Periods will normalise in 2-3 months.

Withdrawal Bleeding usually occurs 5-7 days after taking EC pills. But it is not necessary.
If periods are late by more than 1 week, than she should go for pregnancy test.

Usually, pregnancy tests is done 14 days after intercourse.
Blood beta HCG levels can also be after 7-10 dats of intercourse for early detection of pregnancy.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
