Brief Answer:
Depends upon the underlying cause

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Botox can help in certain cases of urinary retention, but not all. A clinical evaluation is needed. The underlying cause needs to be ascertained. An ultrasound of the KUBP (kidney ureters bladder prostate) would be the first step. Obstruction needs to be ruled out. Botox is unlikely to help in case of obstructive causes.

The most common cause of urinary retention in males of your age is due to benign hyperplasia of prostate. In such a case botox is unlikely to help.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
