Question : i have essential tremor in my head and jaw. is it possible to inject botox in the jaw area to stop the tremors?
Brief Answer:
It is possible, but used only when other options have failed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Botox injections has been used in treating essential tremor, including tremor of the head and jaw. So yes, it is possible to use botox injections to stop the jaw tremor.
However Botox is not the first line therapy, it is used when another medication has failed.
In your case you mention only Gabapentin, you do not mention to have tried other first-line choices like Primidone or Propranolol.
For that reason, I suggest you try them before turning to Botox injections.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
