Question: I took my Buspar 7.5mg at 10:30am and then my Lexapro 20mg at 11am, I just took my Ocycodone 30mg at 5:30pm, I am having a horrible panic attack so I just took my Klonopin 1mg at 6:30. it is 7pm now. My question is, these meds have all been prescribed but I have not taken them all together before, and when I look them up it says not to take them together so I am worried about adverse side effects please help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks very much for your question.

I'm sorry you are having a panic attack -- this is one of the worst feelings on earth, so I empathize with you. Let me give you my thoughts.

I'll begin with saying that you are not in any serious danger, there are no serious interactions between these medications, and you will be okay! Do some deep breathing, breathe into a paper bag, do some progressive muscle relaxation, take a tiny bit of extra Klonopin, and this panic attack will subside.

Lexapro, Oxycodone, and Klonopin are all safe to take together. I am guessing that you have recently started Buspar at the very low dose of 7.5mg. While it is, again, totally safe to take all these medications together, sometimes when people take a new medication, they can experience paradoxical anxiety as the brain initially reacts to them. This can happen when first starting antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, and this includes Buspar. So this may be happening to you now, but again, it is not dangerous, and this effect will go away with time.

To summarize, you are safe. There are no serious interactions, and you may be having a paradoxical anxiety reaction. This will go away shortly. Don't worry!

Detailed Answer:
Skipping it or taking it as normal are both fine options, neither one will hurt you. I' probably lead towards going ahead and taking it, but again neither option is harmful. Taking that small extra dose of Klonopin was fine! Hopefully by now you are feeling better.
