Can CBC Test Monitor A Person’s Blood Loss?
Question: Hello, I've had a lot of blood drawn from me this year because I've been to the ER three times a month so I've almost had a tube of blood drawn from me everyday for the past seven months. I've been feeling weak and have been having cold clammy skin so I got worried I have too much blood loss. I got my CBC checked yesterday and it was normal. The CBC only measures the percentage of rbcs in a sample of blood, it does not measure the total volume of blood in the body. So how can one tell from a CBC that there is not too much blood loss if it does not measure the total volume of blood in the body? Also, is the amount of blood I had drawn this year too much blood loss?
