Can CKD Cause Persistent Nausea And Vomiting?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Jul 2016
Question: Hi. I have been suffering from nausea and vomiting for over a month. I have seen 8 doctors, had one ER visit and an endoscopy. No significant findings in line with my symptoms. No gall bladder issue, no ent/ vestibular issues. Next referral is to neuro. However, I'm aware I have labs consistent with kidney issues. Could ckd cause you symptoms? Should I see the Nephrologist next? I'm off all my meds now, can't tolerate taking pills, smells bother me, and I'm sneezing in the last two days. Tired and having brain fog.

Thanks for your answer. I'll get you those labs and make appt asap.
Any ideas on how to build myself back up? I'm exhausted and not functioning. Only leave the house for dr visits and they are a struggle. I use pedialyte pops and try to drink water, tho only get I about 36 oz per day. I'm not peeing much. Not sure if I should resume triamterine. No dr told me to give up meds, but I tend to throw them up. Today, I tried a probiotic and protonix and threw up an hr later. Yesterday no pills, no vomiting and felt better.

Brief Answer:
Iv supplementation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I would suggest visiting a hospital immediately.
Since you cannot retain any food or medicines, I would suggest iv supplementation.
You may try ondansetrone for a brief period till you can get direct help.
Best of luck. Dr Mittal
