Question : Is Cefadrox 500mg allowed for a person who has sulpha allergy?
Brief Answer:
Yes can be given.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
Cefadrox is Cephalosporin group of antibiotic and has no relation with sulpha group of antibiotics.
In fact there is even no cross reaction among the two groups.
If a person is allergic to sulpa then he can be given Cefadrox.
In case a person gets an allergic reaction it indicates that the person is also allergic to cephalosporin group of antibiotics.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
