Question : My wife is having throat infaction and a bit of cough. I consulted a doctor and he suggested a medicine Cefogen along with other course of medicine. I was able to find all other but instead of Cefogen I found Cepodem. I am not able to contact doctor because its night now. Can I use this alternative medicine. Quick response is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hello

Cefogen and cepodem are different and therefore cannot be interchanged

Cefogen is the trade name for Cefuroxime, which is an antibiotic

Other trade names like Aaxim/Abrocef/Acee/Acef/Acitil , i am sure you will be able to get one of these from your local pharmacy.
