Brief Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX Natrilix, Celenidipine and Metalor XR 50 are different classes

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX Natrilix, Celenidipine and Metalor XR 50 are different classes of drugs with different modes of action. Normally a Physician decides on the drug based on age, severity of blood pressure, whether you are prone to oedema feet, your kidney and liver functions, whether you have Diabetes, the state of your heart etc. Natrilix is used more if you have oedema(swelling feet), Celenidipine if you have a cardiac problem along with hypertension but do not get oedema feet, Metoprolol is a good all round drug but there can be a little oedema in some. XXXXXXX I notice from your previous consultations that you are prone to oedema feet (when you took Amlong) and also have history of varicose veins. Although Celenidipine causes less oedema than Amlong, I would still not recommend it. Natrilix, or another class of Diuretic like hydrochlorthiazide along with Metolor XR should suit you. You can discuss this with your doctor who knows you better than me. Regards
