Question : Hi doctor, my wife is 8 months pregnant and s
he has taken orally clindamycin & clotrimazole vagainal suppositries by mistake. Is it harmful for her or our baby ? Pls suggest

These drugs do not have adverse effects on mother and baby

I can understand your concerns.

Both Clindamycin and Clotrimazole belongs to category B drugs.

Category B-Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.

Hence, these drugs should not cause any concern to both mother and baby.
