Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
Sinus infection's don't respond well to Clindamycin. However, it can be used, when you don't have better options.
You seem to be having an Acute attack of Sinusitis. Usually an acute attack takes 5 days to settle down. But if you have persisting sinusitis, you would require to get CT Para nasal sinuses to rule out Chronic Sinusitis.
If the CT shows slight sinus infection, then it can be treated with conservative treatment.
But if the infection is severe, you would require surgery for the same.
Conservative treatment includes:
1. Steam inhalation 4-6 times a day.
2. To take anti allergic like Levocetrizine and Montelukast
3. In cases, who don't respond to anti allergic drugs, Fluticasone Nasal spray.
4. Antibiotics like Amoxycillin and Clarithromycin for short course helps greatly.
So, it's basically the treating doctor's decision to start the particular antibiotics. However, i personally prefer to use Amoxycillin or Clarithromycin and get wonderful results.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
