Can Clobazam Be Taken While Suffering From Kidney Dysplasia?

Question : my child has dysplastic kidneys. Recently he has had a couple of seizures and the doctors want to put him on clobazam for the next couple of years. Does this drug have an impact on kidney function?

No it doesn't have any impact.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

You do not need to worry about Clobazam having a negative impact on the kidneys though, it does not impact kidney function and it is metabolized in the liver so its levels are not affected by kidney function. It can be used safely in patients with kidney conditions.
