1) I suggest you to undergo medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) under supervision of the local gynecologist as there will be certain risk and complications like heavy bleeding, abdominal cramp, fainting, incomplete abortion etc. It will be also helpful in emergency situation.

At first, Mifepristone tab should be taken on D1 and you have to take Cytolog (Misoprostol) after 24 hrs i.e on D3. Two tabs are to be inserted in vagina and other two are taken orally.

2) Immediately after taking those pills, you will get vaginal bleeding and strong abdominal cramp (within next 72 hrs) till fleshy mass or clots are expelled out.

3) You may get bleeding or small clots for 1-2 weeks to resolve the abortion completely. Next, follow up examination is required after 1 week to check for retained bits or placental tissue. One pelvic ultrasound (post abortion) is quite helpful for confirmation.

4) In failed medical abortion (5% cases), surgical procedure (D & C) is required to evacuate uterine cavity completely. In such case, gynecologist can help you.

5) Urine pregnancy test or blood test may remain positive till 2-4 weeks before it comes down to normal level. Incomplete abortion should be ruled out.
