Brief Answer:
Yes the prescribed medications are effective.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX Hi
Good evening!

I appreciate your concern for your mother's chronic skin problem.
The prescribed medications are effective in the treatment of chronic urticaria.

The do not cause any serious adverse effects however on their prolonged use she MAY suffer from dry mouth, increase heart beat or constipation.

Chronic urticaria is usually mild in nature & triggered by NSAID pain killers, insect bites, infection, heat or cold, stress, sunlight, exercise, food or food additives.

Beside the medicines, the following precautions may help prevent the recurring chronic urticaria:

1. She must wear loose, light clothing.
2. Avoid scratching or using harsh soaps.
3. The affected area should be cooled with a shower, fan, cool cloth or soothing lotion.
4. She must avoid known the known triggers as mentioned above.

Hope to have answered your query, however I shall be glad to answer if you have any follow up query.

Best regards.
