Can Diclofenac Gel Be Used When Suffering From Bursitis?

Question: I have AS and have been having bouts of bursitis in my shoulder area and just below the hip. Today I had injections for the hip area. Do you recommend using Diclofenac gel 1 percent along with the injection or a while afterwards.

usually,diclofenac gel application locally causes increase in the blood supply of that area. in some cases this may complicate into an abscess and so we usually recommend our patients to use the gel 48 hours after the injection shot.

it would be safe for you,to avoid using it at present and wait for 48 hours minimum ,before you use it
