Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply

1. Umbilical cord torsion appears to have have lead to fetal demise as per report.

2. One more important observation is that the fetus appears to be severely growth restricted and below 5th percentile.

3. This means the fetus had comoromised growth. This happens when there is hypertension, anemia or nutritional deficiency.

4. The chances of repeat in umbilical cord torsion are rare and unlikely.

5. Because torsion might have even happened after death of fetus which is difficult to know.

6. Hence I recommend prevention of growth restrictions like last time.

7. Request your doctor to start on low molecular weight heparin injections.

8. This will prevent placental and cord vascular resistance generally and prevent growyh restrictions due to vascular compromise.

9. Get fetal doppler ultrasound scan regularly to diagnose arterial resistance.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
