Question : can we use one tablet Lipidamine (eldoper) for containing loose motions in a nine year old boy
Brief Answer:
no, it can not be used in children
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Eldoper is usually not advised in children.
In children the mainstay of treatment of loose motions is by giving oral rehydration solutions, oral probiotics and antibiotic if the loose stools are because of bacterial infection.
Eldoper decreases loose stools by decreasing the movement of intestines, but it doesn't treat the infection.
Hence it can not be given routinely in children with loose stools.
Hope I have answered your query, if you have any clarification please let me know.
Best regards.
