Brief Answer:
it reversibly increases creatinine

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Fenofibrate can increase creatinine levels but this effect is fully reversible , no matter how long the medication is taken.
The reason or the mechanism for the increase is not precisely known but though it increases the creatinine, it does not affect glomerular function (GFR)

Medical studies have also known that the increase in creatinine caused by fenofibrate does not increase the risk of renal disease or affect heart disease. There are actually 2 large medical studies that show that it slows down protein leakage from the kidneys and also decreases the decline in GFR.
The names of the studies can be given if you wish to take a look.

This means that though the fenofibrate is likely responsible for the increase in creatinine, it may not be the reason for the decrease GFR but this would need to clarified by your doctor.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
