Posted on Wed, 5 Nov 2014
Question: Hi
I am currently using Fluxetine 20 mg for my depression and anxiety. I can't control my appetite I am putting on weight. can I use Duromine 15 mg while I am on Fluxetine 20 mg. I was using Duromine and I lost 10 kilos in 3 months. Due to my depression and anxiety problem, I stopped Duromine and have been almost 2 months on Fluxetine 20 mg. I feel pretty good now. May I take both Fluxetine 20 and Duromine 15 mg at the same time. I currently have prescribed Duromine 15 mg.

Cheers

Brief Answer:
Combination of Fluxetine and Duromine

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
You cannot take Fluxetine and Duromine (Phentermine) together as with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (eg, fluoxetine),sympathomimetic effects of phentermine ( Duromine) and risk of “serotonin syndrome” may be increased.
