Brief Answer: yes, it can be used. Detailed Answer: Hi, welcome to HCM. Yes, Glyciphage (metformin) is (a drug that is used to treat diabetes) used to treat patients who are obese and have polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD/PCOS). It helps in reducing weight and also in regularizing menstrual cycles in those with PCOD. It is generally started with a dose of 500mg and is increased up to 2000 mg per day as required. the benefit is generally noticed after 3 months of therapy. Hope this information is helpful. All the best.
