Brief Answer:
Human secretions can definitely transmit STDs if of an infected person!

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for consulting me at HCM . Your trust in HCM means a lot to me as a Physician.

I have completely reviewed your health query, and can well realize all those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will give extend my expertise to solve the problems.

If you didn't have any cut on the finger then it was very unlikely for you to get any disease. But in this scenario if the seminal fluid was of someone who is having some disease, that may get transmitted to you through the cut on finger.

You did very well washing hands with antiseptic solution. It leads to much protection But still we need to get you tested for some diseases. Every disease after exposure has a time window to show up on tests. So, we have to wait for that. I guide you about that schedule so that you may get tested. You need to consult your local Physician who will go for the script for these tests and will manage all that.

I am not saying you definitely have the diseases, but to keep you out of stress, testing is necessary.

After two weeks of exposure to tissue paper: test yourself for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia.
Between 1 and 3 months you need to test for Syphilis.
6 weeks to 3 months after exposure: HIV, Hepatitis B and C.
For Herpes, you don't need to test right away. You are unlikely to get the symptoms if any.

Hope I answered all of your queries. Let me know if you have further clinical concerns or doubts. I will be more than happy to get back to you with my expert opinion. For any disease you have, a timely follow-up is very necessary regarding the treatment efficacy and to see if there is a need to change the treatment options. So keep a follow up to see how you doing (Always write down my name in start of your questions at this forum & I will be with you in no time).

Hello Dr - thanks for your advice. On consult the cut is dried and just from a nail bed so I honestly don't think anything could have been transmitted - your advise again is much appreciated

Brief Answer:
If that is just an old wound, may be no issues then!

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back and thanks for asking a follow up query. I am very happy to help you today and reply all of your concerns.

If the wound is that deep and dried up old scar only, then I also of the same view that it may be safe and didn't transmit the infection.

If you consulted your Physician, and he after seeing the wound said it's good to go then OK. Otherwise just once you should go and in-person get this wound checked up by a Physician.

Hope I answered all of your queries. Let me know if you have further clinical concerns or doubts. I will be more than happy to get back to you with my expert opinion.
