Brief Answer:
The window period ranges from 15 days to 3 months.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Welcome to HCM.

Deep kissing and foreplay are no risk activities for HIV. The window period for HIV varies from 15 days to 3 months but 4th gen duos test at 6 weeks is highly reliable and accurate so no need to worry at all as the risk is practically nil.

Anal fingering also has no risk of HIV. You need to get tested after 3 months to get 100% conclusive result as per routine guidelines. Allay the fear or anxiety related to HIV. Be relaxed, forget about the incidence and move ahead in life.

Thank You

thanks a lot dr ...so are u saying that the retesting at 3 months is just a formality due to official guidelines...I'm quite confused bcoz most ppl say 6 weeks is cinclusive for 4ty gen test since its a duo test ....have u personally seen or heard of any cases wen a 6 week negative turns positive at 3 months...till today my exposures have just been foreplay, kissing and anal fingering....u had given protected oral sex to a male only once but he wore a cindom and did not ejaculate....do I need to test Bcoz of any of these activities...also could u please highlight which activities are completely safe ...I am not willing to take even the smallest of chance...thanks

Brief Answer:
Yah it is just like formality.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Welcome back once again.

Some people will take 6 weeks as conclusive but according to international HIV guidelines you need to get tested after 3 months to get 100% conclusive result. Don't get worried because I have never seen such case which turn positive after being tested negative at 6 weeks so just relax and go ahead with the test.

Kissing, foreplay and fingering all are completely safe activities and there is surely no chance of transmission of infection in your case. Allay the fear or anxiety related to HIV and move ahead in life happily without any tension.

Thank You

Brief Answer:
You are absolutely safe.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Human saliva is not the fluid which transmits HIV so no need to worry about spitting even though he was positive because human saliva contains some enzyme which inhibits the growth of HIV virus.

The oral sex was protected and the test result for HIV after 25 days is also negative then nothing to worry at all as you are risk free from HIV. Don't get feared or think much and move ahead in life.

Thank You
