Question : Hi Doctor,

A question around the risk of HIV transmission in case of body to body massage. Let's say that the person and the masseuse are naked, and through a body to body massage, the penis gets rubbed against the vagina but no penetration happens. Is there a risk if virus transmission in case the masseuse has HIV?

Hello,

If the genitals are in contact, there is some risk of transmission. It isn't as great of a risk as with intercourse, but if there is contact of mucus membranes and bodily secretions, then there is some risk.

Best to wear a condom in such situations.
