Question : Hello Dr,
I recently (a week ago) had a sexual encounter with a sex worker. During this act she first performed oral on my bare Penis then I put a condom and we had protected vaginal sex and finally she performed another bare oral before she finished me by hand. I did researches on the Internet I know that I was at risk of getting STDs from this act but I'm more worried about HIV and Hepatitis B since they are the deadliest infections, since that day I regret I've done that and could barely get any sleep the most difficult part is not knowing it's too early to get tested. Can you tell me if I was at risk of getting any of these infections and how should I proceed from there to know for sure if I have something in the earliest convenience. l'm so anxious about it. P.S I'm a male heterosexual had many partners over the last month always protected until now I'm 24 years old

Brief Answer:
Minor risk
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
I unerstand your concens and any risk of such serious disease would make us anxious. But,risk during the oral sex is statistically minor, around 1/ 000. it means that 1 in 10 000 exposure will end up in infection. For hepatitis it is slightly less,around1/5000 and for other std it is more risky. So you can do tests for your satisfaction but I dont think it is necessary. Wish you good health. Regards
