Question : I had a brief protected sex vaginal encounter with a girl in a spa of unknown status for only 2-3 mins. I ejaculated inside the condom and the condom did not break. it was a latex condom which she offered to me. I did no kissing and oral sex. What is my risk for HIV and other std's? I dont have symptoms like fever and swollen lymph nodes. should i take any test? My work is in a rural place where there is no access to hospitals and testig centres.
Brief Answer:
Your risk for getting the HIV or other STDs is negligible or very remote.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Welcome to HCM.
You had protected vaginal intercourse only for 2-3 minutes so the risk of getting HIV infection or other STDs is very less or negligible.
In your case, I don't think you have to take any test for HIV as the risk is nil so no need to worry much. Be relaxed and move ahead in your life.
Thank You

Which test should I go for? How much time will the results take to come out? What can I expect? I am worried.
Brief Answer:
You can go for combined antibody and antigen detection 4th generation test.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
You can go for 4th generation test for HIV which looks for both antibodies and p24 antigen and it is also accurate even in earlier period of infection by 3-4 weeks.
You need not to be worried much as the possibility of having positive result is very rare or negligible. Be relaxed and do the testing for HIV.
Thank You
