Question : Hello Doctor,

Thanks for your time.

I am in deep stress due to my action on Dec 9th, 2015. I visited a CSW in XXXXXXX and even though I wanted only a body massage. I slipped further and went into few things.

She put on 2 condoms(Moods) and told me to penetrate her but when I tried to penetrate her, I was too flaccid and was unable to do so, she ended it with an oral with the condoms on and she removed them. I felt that they didn’t break because I felt her removing it and the semen was collected in the condom.

I am very worried because there were quite an amount of saliva. This is my third week and I can see few pimple like spots on my back and they are coming over in my body too. I have a headache today and a slight loose stools.

Am I sero converting or please advise. I m in deep dilemma

Brief Answer:
HIV is rarely transmitted through saliva and unlikely for you

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. It appears that your symptoms are from flu attack or gastroenteritis and unlikely to be HIV infection.

2. HIV is not transmitted by saliva easily and you had put condoms.

3. The symptoms of headache and diarrhea can be from flu or gastroenteritis and this is common in the winter season.

4. If the pimple like spots come up in many areas then please consult a dermatologist. Please take precautions in food and water and you should recover in a week. Avoid anxiety and stress because it is unlikely to have HIV infection from the event above.

5. For peace of mind you can get HIV 4th generation rapid test for HIV 1 and HIV 2 antibodies and p24 antigen test after 30 days from the date of probable exposure and again at 6 months.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Hello Doctor,

Thank you for just feedback, I really appreciate it.

I forgot to tell you that I had a rapid test at 17 days after the exposure and it came back negative, should I go for the PCR or the 4th generation test at 4 weeks. I really appreciate your advise. I am from XXXXXXX would you advise any lab there which would give me a piece of mind

thanks

Brief Answer:
Please get 4th generation rapid test done after 30 days and 6 months

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. The 4th generation test which is for HIV 1 and HIV 2 antibodies and p24 antigen is conclusive for HIV 1 infection after 30 days.

2. However for confirmation of HIV 2 infection the test is to be done again after 6 months from exposure.

3. In our country there is 98 percent HIV from HIV 1 virus and HIV 2 virus causes 2 percent infections. Therefore for peace of mind doing the 4th generation test at 6 months is recommended. In XXXXXXX you can get the test done in a well known laboratory like St.Johns medical college hospital and request for 4th generation rapid HIV and HIV 2 antibodies and p24 antigen test.

Hope your query is answered.
