Can HIV Be Contracted Through Protected Sex?

Better ruleout HIV/STD with appropriate tests to relieve from mental tensio
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
If you believed her that she had used condom from the beginning of the act till the end, then you need not worry. If you have doubts about the same, only way to clear your doubts about HIV/STD, is going for appropriate tests for the same. Ruling out these diseases with tests will relieve unnecessary mental tension. You can not rely her words that she is free from HIV. Testing yourself is safe when you are not sure about the condom usage.
At the same time she would also have concern about her own health. When she had condom at hand, then there was every chance that she would have used the same.
HIV tests are more reliable 12 weeks after the risk contact.

If she had sex with condom risk of HIV is negligible
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Duration of contact does not matter in contracting an infection. Just a second with mild sexual abrasion is enough to get an infection, provided that individual has HIV infection.
At the same time partners of infected people, remains HIV free in spite of their regular contact and called as Sero-discordant couple (more common with hetrosexual contact and not with anal contact).
If condom was intact and was there in position throughout the sexual act, then you need not worry.
The risk in anal sex is more than vaginal sex.
