Can HIV Be Contracted Through Unprotected Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Wed, 14 Sep 2016
Question: About a month ago, I had protected sex with a woman and unprotected oral sex with her as well. Then two days after that I had unprotected oral sex and fingered a different woman.

5 days later I got a low fever about 99, the following day I got chills, night sweats, joint pain, and a bad fever above about 102 that broke that same night. The next day, i got a rash that covered my entire stomach, chest, arms and legs. I went to the hospital and they told me they thought it was a viral rash. The rash went away in about 24 hours.

I got an HIV RNA & a 4th generation test done 10 days after the last incident incident and then i got another HIV RNA & a 4th generation test done again at 17 days from the last incident. Both came back negative. I tested the woman that I had protected sex with using oraquick and she came back negative, but i did NOT test the woman that I had unprotected oral sex with.

Could this still be HIV? I have never gotten a rash like that before in my life.

What are the chances that this could be HIV? Based on the two negative RNA tests?

Thanks

Brief Answer:
The chances are negligible.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome to HCM.

The risk of getting HIV through unprotected oral is very less as compared to anal or vaginal sex. Your HIV RNA and 4th gen tests are negative at 10th as well as 17th day so nothing to worry about as the chances of HIV in your case are negligible.
