Can HIV Be Transmitted Through Unprotected Oral Sex?
Question: Hello Doctor, I am XXXX. I was in Amsterdam begining of Nov 2015 and had 3 sexual encounters in 2 days with Commercial Sex Worker. The sex was unprotected Oral sex full fledged (giving and receiving both) and protected Vaginal intercourse. This was the first time I had such encounter and was really guilty for the incident happened. Actually I was in a drunken and heavily smoking during that time.
After coming back I was really stressed and had oral thrush, and mild sore throat. I took antibiotics for 3 days and was ok. After a week i still have mild irritating throat , mild pain on the lymph nodes.
Finally after three weeks of exposure i got tested for following:
1. HIV PCR DNA Qualitative : Result NEGATIVE
2. HIV Combo Test (including p24 Antigeen) : Result NEGATIVE
3. HIV Antibodis - ELISA Test - Result NEGATIVE
Also I had also tested for STD (Syphilis, Herpes) which was also Negative.
I also met a doctor and he suggested antibiotics for a week for throat infection. I used the antibiotics but after a week I still have the mild throat pain (on the left throat and right throat intermittent pain like sqeezing, but it was not continous .
Also I had mild pain under the jaws (tonsiltis).
I was really worried as after using antibiotics why I am still having this irritating throat. Also I developed a rash on the shoulder on 38th day and it has gone automatically in a day.
I met the doctor again and again he gave antibiotics for a week (Cefpodoxime proxetil). Yesterday I completed the course of Antibiotics, Still I have the mild throat, sometime on the left side of the throat and right side of throat or rarely on middle of throat. intermittent squeezing pain. Also one day i had severe head ache on top of my head and gone automatically.
While eating food i dont have any throat pain, but it is irritating, however to clear my doubts I thought to get tested myself again.
On 41st day HIV Elisa Test : Negative
On 44th day HIV PCR -RNA- Quantitative- Negative
On 45th day HIV Combo Test (including P24 Antigen) - Negative.
Please advise on the following:
1. Why I still have the irritating intermittent squeezing throat pain which is mild? I was under antibiotics for 15 days.
2. HIV Test after 3 weeks and 6 weeks are negative (both DNA, RNA, Antibodies , P24 Antigen). can these tests considered conclusive and can forget the episode (We are planning for kids and since 6 weeks i am keeping my wife away and not having sex.)
3. Do i need to get tested for any STD's , i do not have any Symptoms?
4. I was reading the posts on STD, Do i need to get tested for Chlyamdia & Gonnorhea as well?
5. Also while i was taking the HIV tests, I was under antibiotics, will these effect the results.
6.. I am actually a healthy person, the only problem I have is the Gastric problem. I am using the medicines for gastric since 40 days now.
Can I move on with my life normally

You had protected vaginal intercourse and unprotected oral sex than the chances of getting HIV are already minimized because the risk of transmission of HIV through unprotected oral sex is very less as compared to vaginal or anal sex.
For persistent intermittent squeezing throat pain consult some other doctor and change the antibiotic as per the advice. Also take some decongestant along with the antibiotic for throat irritation and discomfort. Do warm water gargles and take steam inhalation to reduce the congestion of the throat.
Your test results for HIV like RNA and DNA PCR, ELISA Antibody and HIV Combo test including P24 antigen all are non-reactive after 3 and 6 weeks so considered highly reliable and conclusive. You can definitely forget the episode as you are free from HIV and move on with your wife normally to plan for a kid.
No need to get tested for chlyamadia and gonorrhea along with other STDs also because the test result for syphilis and herpes was negative after 3 weeks. The treatment with antibiotic has no effect on the result of HIV test so don't worry so much about HIV. Be relaxed and avoid excessive stress or tension.

Thank you doctor for your response. Though I had unprotected Oral sex and protected Vaginal intercourse, I am worried whether the condom broke inside or slipped. When I completed the intercourse the condom was intact but not sure whether it got burst or broken inside.
Also I was reading the posts and getting confused, according to CDC the HIV tests are conclusive at at 3 months of risk exposure and some other sources still say it is 6 months. My risk exposure was 6 weeks. Please clarify can this be conclusive with concrete reasons as I am planning for my kid and you are advising me to go ahead.

I have a doubt regarding STD. I got couple of rashes like pimple which are painful on neck and shoulder area. i attached the STD Panel test done during 3 weeks of risk exposure, please check and kindly advise. there are some values shown for Herpes IGG values . please advise on the same.
