Brief Answer:
These symptoms are not suggestive of STD

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

the symptoms you mentioned were not suggestive of STD. You are just lucky that you did not contact a symptomatic STD even though you had a very risky behaviour towards intercourse. But please remember that you cannot be lucky all the time.

We do not encourage intercourse with multiple sexual partners at same period of time. So refrain from that. The other symptoms that you mentioned were part of the Azithromycin side effects like Dry lips, burning sensation and throat pain. You should consume high amounts of water and nutritious food to tolerate such newer generation antibiotics which are unnecessary for the simple problem that you had.

Let me know if something else bothers you closely.

Thank you doctor, thank you for your reply. I need your valuable advise I would never ever intervene in such a risky behaviour. Just need your kind advise to move ahead. I would like to know whether I am infected with any STD (syphilis, herpes, gonorrhoea) or any Hiv.

Though I had protected intercourse, i had oral sex and I am really worried on the same. It is almost three weeks of risk exposure now. I had mild throat pain and cold for which I had Ajithromycin. Now there is no throat pain however initially I had mild ulcers on tongue and also had gastric problem, since 3 weeks I have been using Pantaprozole. I still have mild chest pain and also have Chapped lips and are very dry. Am effected with any STD or Hiv. Do i need to get tested. I am refraining in having sex with my wife till i feel I am OK. I have a daughter too and iIam staying away from her too. Can you please help me on the same. I will never ever do such mistake. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Testing

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

As I said you did not express symptoms of STD purely till now. Oral sex has risk of transmission of all of the above. However to be sure you can get a STD screening done now for syphilis, herpes and ELISA for HIV after one more week.

This will call it for shots. if they are negative you can feel happy and lucky. For the symptoms its been 3 weeks and no specific symptoms of Herpes, syphilis and gonorrhoea occured. Other symptoms were just non specific.

Take the tests and let me know after a week.

Thanks doctor, l will get tested for sure, I am currently in abroad and will be back in XXXXXXX mid of December. By mid of December it will be 6 weeks of risk exposure. Will it be OK to do testing after 6 weeks of exposure. I planning to do following tests at lal path lab (Vdrl-test, Hiv 1 & 2, antibodies screening test Hsv 1&2, IgG & IgM, Chlamydia trachomatis IgG Antibody). I still have mild chest pain, I do not know whether it is due to gastric problem or not. Shall I continue to use pantaprozole. Also the above tests are sufficient to conclude after testing at 6 weeks. Or I need to get tested next week itself. Plz advise doctor.

Hello Doctor, thank you for the reply. I will get tested in between 5-6weeks of the risk exposure and as advised I shall do the STD panel test which also covers HIV 1 & 2.

Also based on the symptoms mentioned do you think of any Hiv infection. I had unprotected Oral sex and protected intercourse, but worried if the condom is broken inside, but not sure. Can you please advise on the risk.

Also please confirm whether HIV Elisa test is conclusive after 5 weeks and move ahead, or I need to test again.

Also please confirm on the STD testing whether they are conclusive after 4 weeks.

Really getting worried doctor, iam physically feeling OK, any joint pain or mild pain or any itching iIam getting suspicious about Hiv or std. Kindly advise doctor i will be highly obliged.

Brief Answer:
Your sin is killing you not the disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Your sinful act was killing you than the disease. You should please test and confirm your self before you can believe. My plain text may not bring in trust. It has to be confirmed by a negative result.

There is a risk of transmission of HIV with unprotected intercourse, it is very minute may be a chance of 1/10000, but we cannot confirm it without test.

Yes do the first ELISA for HIV and STD they should be conclusive by the said weeks. You may want to undergo stress therapy and counseling together to get out of the thoughts and their aura.

Thank you

Thank you doctor for your response and i totally agree with you. I shall never ever do such mistake again.

I am planning to get tested this week itself for Elisa and STD which would be 25 days of the risk exposure (4th week). Once it is done l shall share the report to you.

Also one last thing I would like to ask is that I am feeling mild feverish in the afternoon and mild throat pain and in the evening it is OK. Does these symptoms tell anything, shall I use any fever medicine?

25days window period is good enough for Hiv elisa test and STD test as well?

Shall I also get tested for Hiv Pcr rna test? For this test the window period is sufficient to get the accurate result.

The reason for me asking these is, I am going to XXXXXXX day after tomorrow and will get tested based on your advise.

Appreciate your kind reply.

Thanks in advance.

THESE SYMPTOMS ARE NON SPECIFIC TO ANY PARTICULAR DISEASE. IT CAN REFLECT MENTAL STATE/STRESSFUL STATE.

25days window period is good enough for Hiv elisa test and STD test as well?
YES. 90% SEROCONVERSION FOR HIV ANTIBODIES HAPPENS WITHIN 30 DAYS.

Shall I also get tested for Hiv Pcr rna test? For this test the window period is sufficient to get the accurate result.
YOU CAN GET A HIV COMBO TEST WHICH LOOKS FOR RNA AND ANTIBODIES.

Hope this answers.

Hello Doctor,
How are you, Hope your doing great. As advised I got tested for the following tests.

4.     HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS (HSV) 1+2, IGG, SERUM
5.     HIV 1&2 ANTIBODIES, SCREENING TEST INCLUDES P24 ANTIGEN
6.     VDRL (RPR),SERUM

Also in another diagnostic center, I got tested for :
7.     HIV 1 &2 Antibodies- ELISA Method
8.     HIV PCR-DNA Test
I ve taken the screen shot of all the test results and attached in two pdf documents, please find the attached reports and give your valuable feedback.

Regarding HIV all the three reports is negative, can these reports be considered conclusive at 25 days of risk exposure?

Regarding STD Panel test they took only blood sample for all the above tests mentioned, they did not take any urine sample?

Based on the above reports am I effected with any STD? Also do I need to get tested for Gonnohrea?

All the above STD test at 25 days of risk exposure are conclusive?

Please advise doctor, Highly appreciate your kind reply.

Brief Answer:
You have a reason to cheer and thank god

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

As I read through the reports I could see all of the tests were as expected and do not indicate any active infection. IgG antibodies for HSV and Chlamydia pneumonia were raised but expected for a lot people and do not indicate active infection. You do not have to gets for Gonorrhoea.

I think these reports that are good should not make you vulnerable to high risk behaviours. As I said earlier you were just lucky enough but all the time you cannot be. There is no need to go for any further tests for sometime.

Let me know if you have any specific concern
