Question : I have an infection on the lower aspect of my labia. It has been draining for two days. Can I treat with tetracycline, as I am allergic to PCN?
Brief Answer:
Bartholin's gland abscess
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Abscess or infection in the lower aspect of the labia is most likely a Bartholin's gland abscess.
You have to take metronidazole antibiotic along with the drainage of the abscess to cure it.
I will suggest you to refrain from self medication, and consult an OBGYN specialist for proper examination, investigations and treatment accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
